Major Power Utility Goes Live with Mobile Workforce Management on Amazon Web Services Platform
Clevest has completed the deployment of our Mobile Workforce Management solution on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud platform at a major utility in California. Clevest successfully utilizes the AWS platform, including multi-regions, auto scaling, load balancers, component types utilized, etc.
The solution will process messages transmitted between AWS and the utility’s legacy on-premise systems per day to the utility’s 1,000+ mobile workers. AWS provided a fully-redundant cloud-based system with multiple testing sites, contributing to the successful deployment.
The deployment also included replacing the utility’s 1,000+ mobile data terminals with iPhones loaded with Clevest’s WorkBook mobile application. WorkBook is an award‐winning, enterprise-grade mobile application that empowers workers with eforms, workflow logic, timesheets, navigation, integrated maps, and GIS layers to visualize assigned work in relation to the utility’s asset infrastructure.
The utility is operating a series of training tracks to add users in a phased approach. Once fully trained, they will complete 8,000 to 20,000 service orders per day using the Clevest and AWS integrated solution.
Clevest’s Mobile Workforce Management will be deployed to both internal crews and contractors. Dispatchers and supervisors will use the solution to send all work orders to crews as well as leverage map-based dispatching capabilities to increase efficiency.
