Clevest’s Customer Advisory Board (CAB) includes representatives from energy and water utilities and provides an avenue for obtaining important customer feedback. As one of the leaders of the utility of tomorrow, Clevest works closely with our board members to help set our future product direction. Mathew Wells, Distribution Operations Manager
Mathew Wells has over 29 years’ experience in the utility industry. Prior to his role as Distribution Operations Manager at Colorado Springs Utilities, he held positions as Distribution Operator, Outage Coordinator, and Operations Superintendent at the utility. Prior to this he held positions as Head Distribution Operator and Distribution Operator at CenterPoint Energy. He joined the Customer Advisory Board to help Clevest’s products evolve as changes come to the industry.
Mark Koplin, IT Manager
Mark Koplin has over 7 years’ experience in the electric cooperative utility industry, and 18 years’ experience in IT development and support. Prior to his role as IT Manager at Connexus Energy, he held the position of IT Director at a data storage technology provider. Mark is certified as a Six Sigma Brown Belt. He joined the Customer Advisory Board to provide insight into how Mobile Workforce Management fits into their big picture (strategic drivers and opportunities), and gain best practices from his peers.
Jon Zawada, Senior Manager, Technical Operations
Jon Zawada has over 16 years’ experience in the electric utility industry. Prior to his role as Senior Manager, Technical Operations at FortisAlberta, he held positions at the utility as Senior Manager Control and Dispatch, Control Centre Manager, Area Manager Field Operations, GIS and Data Integrity Manager, and Lead Power Line Technician. Jon is a board member for Alberta One Call Corporation, and is certified as a Red Seal Power Line Technician. He joined the Customer Advisory Board to gain a better understanding of where Clevest and other utilities are heading.

Tim Swanson, PMP, Director, Information and Infrastructure Security
Tim Swanson has over 33 years’ experience in the utility industry. Prior to his current role, he held the positions of Director, Information Systems and IT Manager at the utility. He is a member of Canadian Electricity Association, Western Energy Institute, and BC Tech; and is a certified Professional Project Manager. He joined the Customer Advisory Board to contribute his experiences in the utility industry and to support the direction of products and technologies.
Memphis Light, Gas and Water
Michael Faulk, CIS Manager
Michael Faulk has over 26 years’ experience in the multi-service utility industry. Prior to his role of CIS Manager at Memphis Light, Gas and Water, he held positions as Project Manager, Developer, Computer Engineer over Meter Reading, Cashiering/Payments, Mobile Dispatch and Smart Meters at the utility. He joined the Customer Advisory Board to network with other users, discuss how other utilities are using the product, and discuss MLGW’s mobile experience over the past 18 years and find what's been missing.
Vladimir Kravchenko, VP of Operations AMI/DR
Vladimir Kravchenko has over 9 years’ experience in the utility industry, specializing in AMI deployments. Prior to his role as VP of Operations AMI/DR at Scope Services, he held the position of VP of Information Technology at the company.

Brian McMillin, Technology Manager – Customer Services Field
Brian McMillian has over 35 years’ experience in the gas utility industry. Prior to his role as Technology Manager – Customer Services Field at Southern California Gas, he held positions at the utility as IT Architect, Team Lead and CS Field Supervisor. Brian is a member of the American Gas Association and is on the customer advisory board for NetMotion. He holds several technology certifications, including Microsoft and CompTIA. He joined Clevest’s Customer Advisory Board to learn more about Clevest’s product roadmap, add value to the product base, and learn how other utilities leverage Clevest products.

Michael Salas, Chief Information and Digital Officer
Michael Salas has over 6 years’ experience in the water utility industry. Prior to his role as Chief Information and Digital Officer at SUEZ North America, he held the position of Chief Information Officer at the utility and at United Water. He joined the Customer Advisory Board to gain insights from others in the industry, and pass on his knowledge accumulated from the utility and other industries.

Joe Tellez, Chief Technology Officer
Joe Tellez has over 24 years’ experience in the gas, electric and water utility industries. Prior to his role as Chief Technology Officer at Tacoma Public Utilities he held positions as Technology Project Manager at San Diego Gas & Electric and IT Project Lead at Sempra Utilities, among others. He is a member of Western Energy Institute, Large Public Power Council, and Utility Analytics Institute; and is an advisory board member for the University of Washington School of Engineering and Technology. Joe is certified by The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF), an enterprise architecture methodology and framework used to improve business efficiency. He joined the Customer Advisory Board to identify opportunities on how Mobile Workforce Management can help realize operational excellence and become an internal workforce digital transformation platform.

Kathleen Bender, T&D Manager of Design, Operational Excellence,
Applications and Support
Kathleen Bender has over 7 years’ experience in the electric utility industry. Prior to her role as T&D Manager of Design, Operational Excellence, Applications and Support, she held the position of Manager of Procurement and Contracts for the utility. Prior to this she held the position of Contract Administrator at the City of Tucson. Kathleen is a member of the Western Energy Institute. She joined the Customer Advisory Board to gain insight and provide input into Clevest’s product roadmap to align our organizational needs with the future functionality and capabilities of WorkBook and WorkSpace.
Maged Yackoub, P.Eng., Manager Operations Information Systems and
Acting Manager System Control Centre
Maged Yackoub has over 13 years’ experience in the electric utility industry. In addition to his role as Manager Operations Information Systems, he is the Acting Manager System Control Centre at Veridian Connections. Prior to this he held the position of Operations Software Engineer at the utility. Maged is a member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario and the Society of Professional Engineers. He joined the Customer Advisory Board to help influence the direction of Clevest’s products (for the mutual benefit of the company and its customers) and drive innovative workforce management and digitization.
