Clevest’s Customer Advisory Board (CAB) includes representatives from energy and water utilities and provides an avenue for obtaining important customer feedback. Clevest works closely with our board members to help set our future product direction. We look forward to discussions on the industry challenges they see, and collaborating on innovative solution ideas.
Marcelo Luengo Amar, Chief Operating Officer
Marcelo Luengo Amar has over 25 years’ experience in the electric utility industry. Prior to his role as Deputy General Manager at Chilquinta Energía, he held the position of VP for Regulatory, Engineering & Planning at the utility. Prior to this, he held multiple directory positions, as well as General Manager at Energía Casablanca and Compañía Eléctrica del Litoral. He is a commercial engineer with an MBA in Business Administration. He joined the Customer Advisory Board to interact with other Clevest customers and to have the opportunity to advise, and potentially incorporate, Chilquinta’s vision and path into future product versions or new solutions from Clevest.
Colorado Springs Utilities
Charles Cassidy, Field Services Manager
Charles Cassidy is a retired United States Marine with extensive leadership and planning experience integrating people, purpose, process, and technology for complex, multifunctional organizations. Prior to his role as Field Services Manager at Colorado Springs Utilities, he participated in the Veterans Local Government Management Fellowship at the utility working in the Emergency Management and Continuity section. His military service includes serving as the Special Plans Branch Chief, J5 Directorate for the U.S. Northern Command; the Commanding Officer of 3d Battalion, 2d Marine Regiment, 2d Marine Division; and the Director of future Operations for Task Force Leatherneck in Afghanistan. He is also a member of the International City/County Management Association. He joined the Customer Advisory Board to gain additional knowledge and insight into Clevest’s mobile platform and learn how other utilities are utilizing these capabilities.
Mark Koplin, IT Manager
Mark Koplin has over 7 years’ experience in the electric cooperative utility industry, and 18 years’ experience in IT development and support. Prior to his role as IT Manager at Connexus Energy, he held the position of IT Director at a data storage technology provider. Mark is certified as a Six Sigma Brown Belt. He joined the Customer Advisory Board to provide insight into how Mobile Workforce Management fits into their big picture (strategic drivers and opportunities), and gain best practices from his peers.
Maged Yackoub, P.Eng., Manager Operations Technology and Innovation & Acting Manager Information Technology and Cyber Security
Maged Yackoub has over 13 years’ experience in the electric utility industry. In addition to his role as Manager Operations Information Systems, he is the Acting Manager System Control Centre at Elexicon Energy (formerly Veridian Connections). Prior to this he held the position of Operations Software Engineer at the utility. Maged is a member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario and the Society of Professional Engineers. He joined the Customer Advisory Board to help influence the direction of Clevest’s products (for the mutual benefit of the company and its customers) and drive innovative workforce management and digitization.

Tim Swanson, PMP, Director, Information and Infrastructure Security
Tim Swanson has over 33 years’ experience in the utility industry. As Director, Information and Infrastructure Security he is responsible for NERC CIP, OT gas and electric, including SCADA, and all IoT outside coporate. Prior to his current role, he held the positions of Director, Information Systems and IT Manager at the utility. He is a member of Canadian Electricity Association, Western Energy Institute, and BC Tech; and is a certified Professional Project Manager. He joined the Customer Advisory Board to contribute his experiences in the utility industry and to support the direction of products and technologies.
Memphis Light, Gas and Water
Michael Faulk, CIS Manager
Michael Faulk has over 26 years’ experience in the multi-service utility industry. Prior to his role of CIS Manager at Memphis Light, Gas and Water, he held positions as Project Manager, Developer, Computer Engineer over Meter Reading, Cashiering/Payments, Mobile Dispatch and Smart Meters at the utility. He joined the Customer Advisory Board to network with other users, discuss how other utilities are using the product, and discuss MLGW’s mobile experience over the past 18 years and find what's been missing.
Southern California Gas
Brian McMillin, Technology Manager – Customer Services Field
Brian McMillian has over 35 years’ experience in the gas utility industry. Prior to his role as Technology Manager – Customer Services Field at Southern California Gas, he held positions at the utility in IT and various field staff organizations. Brian is a member of various mobile solution advisory boards and holds several technology certifications, including Microsoft and CompTIA. He joined Clevest’s Customer Advisory Board to learn more about Clevest’s product roadmap, add value to the product base, and learn how other utilities leverage Clevest products.
Tacoma Public Utilities
Joe Tellez, Chief Technology Officer
Joe Tellez has over 24 years’ experience in the gas, electric and water utility industries. Prior to his role as Chief Technology Officer at Tacoma Public Utilities he held positions as Technology Project Manager at San Diego Gas & Electric and IT Project Lead at Sempra Utilities, among others. He is a member of Western Energy Institute, Large Public Power Council, and Utility Analytics Institute; and is an advisory board member for the University of Washington School of Engineering and Technology. Joe is certified by The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF), an enterprise architecture methodology and framework used to improve business efficiency. He joined the Customer Advisory Board to identify opportunities on how Mobile Workforce Management can help realize operational excellence and become an internal workforce digital transformation platform.
Tucson Electric Power
Kathleen Patton, Director of Design, OpEx, and GIS Quality Mapping
Kathleen Patton has over 7 years’ experience in the electric utility industry. Prior to her role as Director of Design, OpEx, and GIS Quality Mapping, she held the position of Manager of Procurement and Contracts for the utility. Prior to this she held the position of Contract Administrator at the City of Tucson. Kathleen is a member of the Western Energy Institute. She joined the Customer Advisory Board to gain insight and provide input into Clevest’s product roadmap to align our organizational needs with the future functionality and capabilities of WorkBook and WorkSpace.
